St George’s University of London is a medical school located in Tooting in South London and a constitute college of University of London. The medical school was established as far back as 1733 and it’s the formal institution in England to provide medical training for doctors. The University is closely affiliated with St George’s Hospital. The university specializes in medical and health sciences education with aim to bring innovativeness in the medical field. The St George’s University of London Postgraduate Scholarships are available to outstanding international students.

The university ranks 67th in the Times Good university Guide 2020 with award winning programs. St George’s University of London also provides services for its international students thus enhancing the university diverse and inclusive nature.

St George’s University of London Postgraduate Scholarships 2020/21

The university offers 3 postgraduate scholarships namely:

The St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

Global Health MSc International Student Scholarship

Physicians Associate Studies MPAS Scholarships.

The St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme and Global Health MSc International Student Scholarship have the same eligibility criteria and students do not need to submit a scholarship application. The scholarships are awarded automatically based on the academic performance of the student. The Physicians Associate Studies MPAS Scholarships requires a scholarship application form, although have the same eligibility criteria with The St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme and Global Health MSc International Student Scholarship.

The St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

The St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme awards 6 scholarships to both home (UK/EU) and international (non-EU) students. The scholarship covers the full-time tuition fee cost at the home (UK/EU) rate.  international students will have to pay the difference between the tuition for home students and international students. The awards are paid directly to the university.

Global Health MSc international student scholarship

This scholarship is offered to an international student from a low to middle income country studying Global Health in the university. The scholarship is offered annually. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, as well as a maintenance grant of £17,000 to cover living expenses.

Physician Associate Studies MPAS Scholarships

This scholarship is offered to students on the Physician Associate Studies MPAS. Both home (UK/EU) and international (non-EU) students are eligible to apply. The value of this scholarship is £3,000. The scholarship will be paid towards the first year of study. The scholarship application for this scholarship should contain the relevant supporting documentation required by the program applied to, such as references, transcripts and English language scores. The deadline for scholarship applications for the academic year 2020/2021 is Wednesday, 11 March 2020.

Eligibility for the St George’s University of London Postgraduate Scholarships

For consideration for the St George’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme or the Global Health MSc International Student Scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

Apply to study a taught postgraduate course, full time or part time.

Not already be qualified at Master’s level or above, (e.g. PhD).

Recipient should not receive funding for their studies from an external source such as a government, a company, employer or scholarship board

Applicants must have obtained at least a 2:1.

Scholarship is based on academic performance. Students with the highest scores across all courses will be considered for the scholarship. Academic performance is calculated based on the applicant’s degree classification, personal statement, interview and references.

All eligible candidates will be shortlisted on 30 March 2020 (please note scholarships cannot be deferred to 2021 or later entry).

Applicants for the Global Health MSc International Student Scholarship in addition to the above criteria should be from a low-income, lower-middle-income or upper-middle-income, as defined by the World Bank.

How to Apply for the St George’s University of London Postgraduate Scholarships

If you are a home (UK/EU) or international (non-EU) applicant applying for a taught postgraduate program awarded by St George’s, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship providing you apply and are offered a place by the deadline. Students do not need to submit an additional application form.
