Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2020 – Apply

The Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2020 is offered by the three national Science Academies in India to allow teachers and students to work with reputable scientists. The Summer Fellowship will last for two months. Applications are accepted from students and teachers from all educational institutions connected to UGC/AICTE/MCI/Accredited Institutions of State Universities for these Fellowships.

Eligibility Criteria for the Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2020

Students who wish to participate in the fellowship should have 65%-mark scores in core subjects and should be studying one of the following:

BPharm (III and IV years only)

BArch (II, III and IV years only)

MS / MSc / MVSc / MPharm (I year only)

BS / BSc / BVSc (II year only)

PharmD (III, IV years only)

(dual degree) BTech + MTech (II, III, IV years only)

(dual degree) BE + MSc (II, III, IV years only)

ME / MTech / MCA / MArch (I year only)

(dual degree) BS + MS (II, III, IV years only)

Integrated Ph.D. (I, II years only)

MSc Tech (I, II years only)

(5-year integrated) MS / MSc /MTech / MBBS (II, III, IV years only)

BE / BTech / BCA (II and III years only)

Note that Ph.D. students are not eligible for the program.

Teachers must be teaching at an accredited College/University to be considered suitable for the

Applicants who have attended the Academy’s fellowship twice before are not qualified to apply.

Indian Institute of Science

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is located in Bangalore city in the Indian state of Karnataka and was established in 1909 and was endowed with the university status in 1958. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in various disciplines of science and technology. The university currently has over 4000 students and has received a ton of prominent awards in India.

How Can I Apply for Indian Institute of Science?

IISc Bangalore offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral Programs to the students who have an extraordinary determination to pursue a career in the field of science. At Undergraduate level, B.Sc. (Research) program is offered for 4 years. At the postgraduate level, M. Des, M. Tech, M. Mgt, and Integrated Ph.D. programs are offered.

Registration for the programs usually commences in February/ March every year. Interested candidates can apply through online mode. Admission to the IISc Bangalore courses is done based on marks scored in the relevant qualifying entrance exam.

For admission to B.Sc. (Research)The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board of education.

B.Sc. (Research) aspiring candidates must possess valid KVPY/ JEE Main/ NEET-UG scores.

Candidate should possess BTech/B.Des/B.Arch degree for admission to M.Tech/M.Des/M.Mgt course.

For the PG course, the candidates should possess valid GATE/JEST/CEED/CAT/GMAT scores.

In the case of Integrated Ph.D., the candidates must have passed B.Sc. degree in the relevant field.

Candidates must also possess valid JAM/JEST scores for admission to Integrated Ph.D.

Admission to the Integrated Ph.D. program will be grated based on IIT JAM Score.

For Ph.D. admission, candidates should have passed a postgraduate degree in the relevant field.

Indian Academy of Sciences

The Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore was founded by C. V. Raman and was registered as a Society on 24 April 1934. The primary objective of the Academy is to promote progress in pure and applied branches of science and encourage relevant research in various branches of science. The Academy is also involved in publishing scientific works and Organizing meetings of Committees and Conferences to discuss papers submitted to the Academy. The Academy also plays an advisory role to the government.

Indian National Science Academy

The Indian National Science Academy was established in January 1935 to promote India’s science for the cause of humanity and national welfare. The Academy was earlier known as the National Institute of Sciences of India (NISI) and was changed to the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) in February 1970. The Academy publishes proceedings, journals, memoirs, and other publications and also promotes and maintains liaison between Science and Humanities.
