Eligibility Criteria for Stanford University Scholarship

As said earlier, Stanford University offers a series of scholarships in the form of financial aid for students who apply for such aids. These aids are available to both domestic and international students. Stanford has a limited amount of financial aid for international students. International students needing assistance must make that indication on the admission application.

International students who do not request consideration for financial aid at the time they apply for admission will not be eligible to apply for aid at Stanford throughout their undergraduate years.

In order to receive the Stanford University Scholarship fund, international students must obtain either a Social Security number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to be eligible for financial aid. How to Apply for the Stanford University Scholarship

Approximately 70% of students at Stanford receive some form of aid to attend Stanford. About 58% receive aid from Stanford, including athletic scholarships. Stanford considers undocumented students to be eligible non-citizens for purposes of institutional scholarship eligibility, although they are not eligible for federal student aid funds. Stanford Financial Aid

Newly admitted undergraduate applicants are eligible for financial aid. The financial aid award letter is normally contained in the student portal. Newly admitted undergraduates will have to establish their Stanford University Network Identifier (SUNet ID) before they can access the financial aid.

Undergraduates will have to complete a form to notify the Financial Aid Office so that the financial aid award can be finalized. Financial aid is also available for graduate students. Graduate students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Graduate Student Loan Application to qualify for financial aid.
