Brief Description of The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarship

Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarship is in collaboration with the university of Sheffield. It is open for international students to pursue master’s degree in the University. Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Scholarship offers 10 scholarship (over 3 years) targeted at international students from developing countries for a number of courses that are affiliated with the Sheffield Institute for International Development. The university of Sheffield has strong commitment to international development. The school is dedicated to improving lives through international relationship

The university ranks among the top 10 UK universities for research and was ranked #78th worldwide and 12th in the UK according to QS World University Ranking. The university also ranked 12th in the UK according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and was also named University of the year by Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2014. The university is renowned for excellence, impact, and distinctiveness in the research arena. The university is international student friendly and this is seen in the manifestation of the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Scholarship.

Allan and Nesta Ferguson Master Scholarship 2020

The scholarship is open to sound academic individuals from developing countries.  The scholarship is available to postgraduate students in the University of Sheffield. The scholarship offers the following:

A full tuition waiver

Maintenance for university accommodation and a monthly stipend.

Eligibility for Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarship 2020

  • You must be regarded as an international student in terms of tuition payment
  • you must not be funded by another scholarship body. The scholarship is available for only self-funded students.
  • Only full-time students are eligible for the scholarship
  • You must resume your academic journey in 2020. The scholarship cannot be deferred to another academic year
  • Scholarship is awarded to applicants who have met all the admission requirements
  • Applicants must have met all immigration requirements. Such as a study visa to study in the university for the 2020 session

Eligible Field of Study: Interested candidate must hold an offer for one of the following courses to study at the University of Sheffield in 2019:

• MA Cities and Global Development
• MA International Development
• MSc in Environmental Change and International Development
• MPH in International Development
• MSc in International Social Change and Policy
• MA Global and Political Economy
• MA International Relations

How to apply for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarship 2020

The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Scholarship does not require any special procedure. Applicants for postgraduate program in the University of Sheffield are automatically considered for the scholarship. If you receive an offer to study one of the eligible courses and you are a national of, or permanently domiciled in, one of the eligible countries or territories.

Your course application will be assessed by a panel of academic judges to decide whether you will progress to the final stage of the application process.

Selection process

If you are selected for Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Scholarship, you will be contacted by the scholarship board on Monday 8 June 2020.  You might be asked to submit a short personal statement to support your application.

If you do not receive an email by Monday 8 June 2020 asking you to submit a personal statement for the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Scholarship you have not been selected for this award.

The final decision for those asked to submit an application will be made by the end of June.
